- Tools for the Role (Section Leaders) (Module 3)
- Mandatory ongoing learning – Safety – This is required to be renewed every three years.
- Mandatory ongoing learning – Safeguarding – This is required to be renewed every three years.
Having completed the Getting Started training there is further training, to be completed within 3 years of starting your role

To be completed within 5 months of taking on a role
Any member who holds an appointment for which an appointment review is required must complete two specific pieces of mandatory on-going learning:
If you have a Trustee role (including Ex-Officio members) you will need to complete the Trustee Training Module (ensure you complete the English one, as Trustee responsibilities and charity law varies in other parts of the UK).
During this time, you should also attend an Appointment Panel Interview and be allocated a Training Adviser. When in doubt this is your Local Training Manager until they allocate someone else, or the County Training Manager, if there is no Local Training Manager. You should also have support from your Group Scout Leader, District Explorer Scout Commissioner, your Section Leaders and other members of the section leadership team in your Group.
