Facilities

Caddihoe offers Camping on 5 fields + the downstairs area of the cottage which has a kitchen, 2 toilets & wash basins and  a common room with log burner. Our main site has two barns which can be used for various activities. We have Camp Fire areas in Fields 4 & 5, the area in the corner of field 4 being suited to backwoods cooking etc. With thanks to Heavitree Guides we now also have a raised mud base altar fire in the top corner of Field 1 for all to enjoy.

We always keep a good number of altar fires (half an old oil drum, table frame for it to sit in safely & some wire mesh!) available for all to use and we duly request these are used in the camping fields so to prevent damage to the grass.

Please refer to the Caddihoe Site Gallery for some upto date & past moments of our site.

The main male & female toilet block has 4 cubicles, urinal & 4 wash basins (cold water) for males; 2 cubicles & 3 wash basins (cold water only) for females. We also have a unisex shower room - again cold water only!!

Use & freedom of the surrounding Ashclyst Forest is permitted/ granted by the National Trust for wide games/ forest trails etc but only dead fallen timber may be collected for firewood. Under no circumstances may axes or saws be taken into the forest area.

We offer these very much 'back to basic' camping facilities between March 1st and November 30th each year. Between December 1st & February 29th we are now open for daytime/ evening Scout & Guide hire only, weather permitting and subject to the water on site being available*

* during very cold weather we disconnect the water and isolate the well off to prevent frost damage to the UV filter.*
